Tiffin, Ohio Tragedy: Domestic Violence Incident on Huss Street Leaves Three Dead, Community in Sorrow

By Brittany Wilson • Nov 26, 2025
TIFFIN, OH — A domestic violence incident in Tiffin, Ohio, escalated into a deadly shooting Wednesday evening, leaving two young children and a family friend dead in what authorities describe as one of the most devastating events the city has faced in recent years.
Police responded to the 100 block of Huss Street around 6:24 PM after multiple 911 calls reported gunshots and screams. When officers arrived, they discovered several victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigators say the violent confrontation began as a mother attempted to move her belongings out of the home due to ongoing domestic issues. She had arranged for 29-year-old Dustin Willey to help her gather the remaining items, believing her husband, 42-year-old Ryan Eagon, was out of town for work.

But Eagon unexpectedly returned, sparking a deadly chain of events.
According to police, the children, a 7-year-old boy and a 7-month-old infant, were outside near a vehicle when the mother and Dustin heard the older child cry out. When they stepped outside, they saw Eagon in the driveway.
Investigators say Eagon chased Dustin and opened fire, pushing past the children’s mother in the process. He then turned the gun toward the children, fatally shooting both before firing additional rounds at Dustin. Eagon ultimately shot and killed himself.
The mother carried her wounded children inside the home and called for help. First Responders from Tiffin Police and Tiffin Rescue provided emergency aid, but none of the victims survived.

Police confirmed the following:
• The infant and Eagon were pronounced dead at the scene.
• The 7-year-old child died at the hospital after being transported by emergency personnel.
• Dustin Willey died at Tiffin Mercy Hospital after lifesaving efforts.

The mother, who survived physically unharmed, is being protected under Marsy’s Law, which shields the identities of crime victims. Authorities ask the public and media to respect her privacy.

Quotes from Officials & Community Members
“This is an unimaginable loss for our community,” said Chief David Pauly of the Tiffin Police Department. “Our officers, first responders, medical staff, and the families involved are deeply affected. We ask the public to keep them all in their thoughts as we work through the investigation.”

A local neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said:
“You never expect this kind of violence to happen next door. Everyone on this street is shaken. Those children were innocent. This is heartbreaking.”

A domestic violence survivor in the community provided her reaction on social media:
“Leaving an abusive situation is never simple. People don’t realize how dangerous that moment can be. This tragedy is a reminder that victims need serious protection before it’s too late.”

Investigation and Community Impact
The Tiffin Police Department is working with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Seneca County Coroner’s Office. Autopsies are pending.

City officials say counseling, crisis resources, and school-based grief support are being coordinated for those affected by the tragedy.
“The emotional toll is overwhelming,” said a spokesperson for local mental health services.
“We want the community to know that help is available for anyone impacted by this traumatic event.”
