BUXTON, MAINE —
Around 8:00 P.M. tonight, multiple unofficial reports indicate a fast-moving police chase and foot pursuit unfolded along ATV trails in the Buxton area.
One suspect has been taken into custody following the chase.
A second suspect remains on the run, prompting a continued law enforcement search through the wooded areas and trail systems.
Authorities are working to confirm whether this chase is directly connected to the Gorham Savings Bank robbery that occurred just before 2:00 P.M. earlier today in Waterboro, Maine.
A law enforcement source, who requested anonymity, stated that officers have established a perimeter and successfully apprehended 1 of the 2 suspects believed to be tied to the bank robbery.
Investigators reportedly know the identities of both suspects, but names will not be released until later.
Officials from the York County Sheriff’s Office have not yet confirmed details linking the chase to the afternoon robbery, but updates are expected soon.
We will continue to keep you updated as this story develops.
